Magnesium is an important mineral — it’s used in over 300 body processes, especially related to muscle function. It’s naturally found in nuts, seeds and green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale (1). Unfortunately, due to soil erosion, foods in magnesium have substantially less than they did 50 years ago. This combined with the increased amount of sugar and processed food in the American diet means that magnesium deficiency is much more common that it’s been in the past.
Because of this, many people haves started supplementing with magnesium. We talked to Steph Gaudreau from the blog Stupid Easy Paleo about why she takes magnesium. Think you may be deficient? Try out our M3 which also includes zinc and vitamin B6 for easier absorption.
